100ml is more than 3 ounces

Posted by Lani Teshima on 15 September 2010, 4:29 pm

Have you been told that you were restricted to carrying liquids in containers that hold no more than 3 ounces? After all, the TSA “3-1-1” policy includes “3” in its name, and it refers to the liquid weight you’re allowed to take with you in a single bottle. …or is it? If you go to …

Product Review: Shoesocks

Posted by Lani Teshima on 13 September 2010, 9:25 pm

Do you try to minimize what you pack by traveling with just the pair of shoes you are wearing? Or do you ever yourself periodically needing to pack an extra pair of shoes in your carry-on? I was recently contacted by a self-professed heavy packer named Mark, who wanted to send me a product he …

Link Requests

I do not provide links to travel agencies, hotels, booking services, hotel associations, tour agencies, or tourist bureaus unless it is a relevant part of an article. Please do not email me with a request to give you a free link; I will ignore it (trust me).

Product Reviews

If you are a reader and would like my opinion on a product, send me email. If you are a vendor wishing to have me review a product, please email me as well. Note that it should be relevant to traveling lightly. I will note if I was sent an item for review, and I reserve the right to give an honest opinion.

Author

Travelite.org is published and maintained by Lani Teshima. Started in 1996 as an outgrowth of a guide posted in the rec.travel.air Usenet newsgroup, the Travelite FAQ developed into its own Web site devoted to traveling lightly. After a lengthy hiatus in the mid-2000s, the site has been revived in a casual blog format to provide timely editorials and commentary as an addition to continued product reviews and light-travel tips. Apologies in advance for any accidental tweets that mention World of Warcraft (I have another Twitter account related to the game, and sometimes I get my logins mixed up. Oops!).
